Webster Square Day Care Center
Webster Square Day Care Center
Webster Square Day Care Center is a comprehensive early education and care program that provides quality services to children and families in the Worcester area. We strive to provide a safe, healthy, nurturing, and stimulating environment so that all children grow, thrive, learn, and achieve their full potential. From its small beginnings, Webster Square Day Care Center has grown to include both a center-based preschool and a family childcare system, both publicly and privately funded.
Center-Based Care
The center-based preschool program, located in St. Mary’s Health Care Center, is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and provides full-day, full-time care for up to 60 children, ages 2.9 to 6. The program is open from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, five days per week, fifty-two weeks per year. The center-based preschool program, located in St. Mary’s Health Care Center, is accredited by the Department of Early Education and Care.
Family Child Care System
Through our 35 family childcare sites, we provide full-day, full-time State of Massachusetts licensed home-based care for children 6 weeks through kindergarten age. The family childcare homes are open from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.

Additional Information
Both programs are supplemented by a full nutrition program, health education, staff and parent trainings and workshops, social services, and identification and remediation of learning delays. Therapeutic [programs for children may include speech/language therapy, physical therapy, play therapy and/or social service referrals. Each child is treated as the unique individual that he/she is and the program is flexible to the child’s corresponding needs.
Play is at the heart of the early childhood program. Play is the center of the curriculum, the way children develop and express their understanding of the world around them, the window into the lives of the children and it provides an avenue for children to practice emerging skills and confirm emerging concepts.
For subsidized (income-eligible) childcare, parents should call 211 to verify their eligibility and to place their name and family information on the Massachusetts State-Wide Waiting List for Subsidized Childcare. Parents must meet eligibility guidelines established by the State to qualify.
Parents who are referred by a DCF social worker receive a priority population slot. These slots are accessed via the local DCF office through a closed referral system.
Webster Square Day Care Center has a contract with Child Care Resources/Seven Hills Foundation and will accept full-time vouchers.
Additionally, we provide private pay and non-subsidized full-time childcare for families.
Webster Square Day Care Center’s program has been serving low-income, at-risk families for over 65 years. Our focus has always been and remains the promotion of positive outcomes through quality daily experiences for all children in our care.
